The Plutarch Class is the first vessel designated as a Heavy Destroyer. It is a heavily armed small vessel, which can destroy targets of almost any size at close range.

Armament[]

Armed with a short ranged Fore Gun and a similar strength broadside battery, the Plutarch shines at close ranges. It is the Covenant's small size vessel of choice when a target absolutely, positively has to be obliterated in a hail of gunfire. Its marine complement is smaller for its cost than comparable vessels, and it is the slowest Covenant vessel in its size class, but has the strongest weapon loadout.

Abilities[]

Unlike other Covenant small vessels, it does not have the ability to Hit and Run. What it does have is the Pack Tactics rule, allowing multiple Plutarches to concentrate the fire of their Fore Guns. Combined with the ability to link their Broadsides with the Fore Gun, a full squadron can put out a withering hail of fire- 20AD at range band 1, enough to give any target pause for thought.

Meaning of the Name[]

Plutarch is, as usual with Covenant models, a Greek philosopher. And as usual, this editor advises you to look elsewhere if you want to know more.

Get close, kill stuff. Not a complicated plan, but one that may have some issues in execution- these guys will attract a lot of fire. On the plus side, they have an extra HP, so they're less vulnerable than most small models. Put them in a flanking force and take advantage of terrain to get the best out of them. Hell, a full squadron in flank can often force enemy deployment, earning their points without killing a thing.
